Honouring excellence in music and cultural heritage

The Calgary Crescendo Choir Society launched its first Annual Scholarship Program for high school students in Calgary and vicinity. We celebrate the joy of choral singing while promoting the beauty of the Italian language and preserving Italy’s rich musical traditions. Through performance, education and collaboration, we aim to create meaningful connections across cultures. The Scholarship is in the amount of $2,500 to be awarded to the successful candidate at our Annual Spring Concert held in June at The Calgary Italian Cultural Centre.

Eligibility:

Calgary-area Grade 12 student of Italian descent pursuing post-secondary education

Part 1: Personal Information

Part 2: High School Transcripts

All marks submitted must be certified by your counsellor. Marks that must be included are:

  • A myPass high school transcript, including grade 10, 11 and 12 results

  • Any additional grades not found on you myPass transcript

  • Grade 12 second semester midterm marks


Part 3: Essay (500 words or less)

Part 4: Reference Letter

Submit one (1) reference letter on letterhead from a teacher or school staff member.

Declaration:

  • Ensure your application is complete. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

  • Only the successful applicant will be contacted. Notification occurs on or before June 2, of current year

  • PAYMENT OF THE SCHOLARSHIP WILL BE MADE DIRECTLY TO THE POST-SECONDARY INSTITUTION UPON RECEIVING PROOF OF SUCCESSFUL ENROLLMENT

  • The Crescendo Choir reserves the right to publish the names of all award recipients on its website.
